I was approached by the client to work on a set of five deliverables: a wedding invitation, two RSVP cards, a rehearsal dinner invitation, and a pattern page to be printed inside the envelopes. The bride requested the use of a mid-tone blue that matched the shirt she wore in her engagement photos. She also provided me with copy, a basic sketch of how she wanted the different fonts laid out, and samples of typography she liked. She requested that each element feature a signature graphic of two mussel shells to tie into the theme of a summer wedding on the shore.
I created all deliverables for this project using Adobe InDesign and Google Fonts. I found the closest open-source approximations to her provided typography and composed the layout by importing her sketches into the software and working over them. Spacing was adjusted to maximize what was allotted (per the client’s specifications). The final set of deliverables included two shades of blue, which the client tested with her printer before deciding on her preferred color.
